Macrosociology
Four Darks in Red, Mark Rothko, 1958
The world is at a crossroads.
we find ourselves again
at one of those moments in history
when almost everything is in motion
when what was yesterday
will not be tomorrow.
This is what happens when we rest on our laurels
when we forget that society cannot survive without solidarity
when we forget that democracy has to represent the interest of the many
when we allow money to become more important than votes
when we acquiescence as the fixers play the system
when we retire to our sofas and doze.
